Embossed cotton

Beware: embossing will disappear with washing (cold or hot water - but it will not disappear when ironed). If you want to keep it you can dry clean. The fabric will however remain soft.

Laminated fabrics

The coated fabric is a plasticized and waterproof fabric thinner than oilcloth.
It is either matt or shiny, or almost invisible depending on the type of coating.
The best way to prepare your coated fabric projects is to use clips to secure the work rather than needles so you don't make holes.
If the coated fabric slips under your machine, a Teflon machine foot is the easiest solution, otherwise you can place tissue paper between the foot and the item (to be torn afterwards).
