Genuine Japanese traditional scissors in metal.
These thread cutters, also called nigiri basami (握鋏), are very practical for cutting small threads on fabrics or when doing embroidery, and can also replace a seam ripper. These are the scissors traditionally used in Japan for sewing and embroidery, and whose use has more recently extended to plants/bonsai and cooking.
The thread cutter (nigiri basami) sold here is a classic standard version reserved for sewing.
They exist in slightly different forms depending on the use and more or less high-end (depending on the type of metal, steel or mixed steel, etc.), prices can reach 30 to 100€ for a luxury pair.
To use these scissors simply press down on them, and the tip of the blades should cross slightly at the end.
Length: 105mm.
Steel blade.
Made in Japan.
